The Southern Africa Youth Forum (SAYoF) congratulates Her Excellency Boemo Ndu Sekgoma on her reappointment as the Secretary-General for the SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF). The resolution to re-appoint her that took place during the SADC-PF Plenary Assembly at its 54th Session in Mauritius on 25th November 2023 is a great milestone for the region, especially for the youth sector. Her Excellency is known for her outstanding contributions to the development of young people in the region, her transformative leadership style has benefited young people in the region, including the inclusion of young persons with disabilities.
Her Excellency Sekgoma’s prolific leadership has been pivotal in bringing the region together, as evidenced by strong collaboration with citizens and partners, a deliberate approach and commitment to parliamentary development, the appetite to promote good governance, promotion of democracy, and building a solid foundation for human rights within the region. She proffers programs and activities that empower the region, her outstanding stewardship has transformed SADC-PF into a prominent regional legislative body on the continent and globally. She has among other things set the pace for SADC-PF to transform into SADC Parliament.
Her Excellency Sekgoma is the Patron for the SADC Youth Parliament and Southern Africa Youth Forum (SAYoF) in general. Her commitment to youth development, and mentorship is applaudable; an ardent advocate for youth-oriented policies in the region. She leads!
