The Southern Africa Youth Forum (SAYoF-SADC), a coordinating body and a Regional platform for Youth and Youth organizations in the SADC Region and member of the Africa Youth Front on Coronavirus (AYFC), is proud to partner with the Africa CDC, the African Youth Front on Coronavirus, the African Union Office of the Youth Envoy (OYE), Resolve to Save Lives and Pandemic Action Network to launch the Africa Mask Week.
The Africa Mask Week, a social-led initiative begins on Monday,23 November 2020 and concludes on Monday, 30 November 2020. The Africa Mask Week is a movement to accelerate and sustain mask-wearing to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The science is clear: community masking is critical to stop the spread of COVID-19. Until there are vaccines or medicines to fight COVID-19, wearing a mask is one of the best tools we have, especially when combined with physical distancing and hand washing. Help us spread mask wearing messages by getting involved in the #AfricaMaskWeek conversation on social media. Share a photo of how you are wearing a mask and tag friends to keep the momentum going. Mask-wearing must not only be done during the #AfticaMaskWeek but must be continied as we strive to protect ourselves and others from the Coronavirus.
